Keynote: 14 Years Investing in People Building Businesses Powered by Visual Technologies & Artificial Intelligence - Future Investment Opportunities Across Invisible Imaging, Physical AI, Materials Science, Energy, Nanotech, Healthcare and Much More
Evan Nisselson is the founder and General Partner at LDV Capital.
LDV Capital’s thesis: a majority of the data our brains analyze is visual. Therefore, the majority of the data AI will analyze will also be visual, spanning the light and electromagnetic spectrum across all sectors. This thesis was considered cute, niche and science fiction when LDV Capital was founded in 2012. Over a decade later, LDV Capital’s thesis is validated and will continue to be extremely valuable for many more decades. LDV Capital continues to be the only fund that invests with this thesis – investing in people building businesses powered by visual technologies and AI.
LDV Capital I & II funds have been returned and we continue to have significant upside potential across each of our funds thanks to our brilliant entrepreneurs, experts, team and LP partners. We led the Seed financing of Synthesia who recently announced surpassing $100M in revenue and raised $180M at $2.1B led by NEA. We invested early in Ezra which was acquired by Function Health, and we have many more early-stage deep tech investments. Uizard was acquired by Miro, Memorable AI was acquired by Reddit, Geniachip was acquired by Roche and many more. We are now investing out of LDV Capital IV and looking for brilliant people to hopefully improve our world and create significant value.
He has been investing out of LDV Capital since 2012. Prior to investing, he built four businesses powered by visual technologies as a serial entrepreneur for 18 years from Silicon Valley, New York and Europe. He was a professional photographer and digital media expert in the early 1990s.
In his opening keynote, Evan will share insights into future investment opportunities across visual technologies and artificial intelligence.

He began his career at Andersen Consulting in Chicago, where he spent eight years as a senior manager in product and technology groups.
In a fireside chat with Evan Nisselson, Dick will share his insights, lessons and advice from founding companies, getting them off the ground, selling them (three times a row!). Then becoming the CEO of Twitter and taking it public. Now, as a venture capitalist, he is investing in people and helping them turn breakthrough products into world-class companies.
Keynote - Leveraging Vision-Language-Interaction Models To Enable Robots To Interact More Safely and Intuitively with Humans
Dr. Catie Cuan is an entrepreneur, engineer and artist pioneering the emerging field of choreorobotics.
Many say robots will be everywhere and do everything that humans can do. However, today robots interact in rudimentary ways. There are exciting opportunities to reinvent how we interact with robots and AI in more human-centered ways. Dr. Cuan's latest startup is building a vision-language-interaction (VLI) foundation model to improve human interaction with and around robots. While traditional robot foundation models optimize for task performance, VLIs are an essential new layer that makes robots more accessible, intuitive and safe when interacting with people. As autonomous robots increasingly become a part of our everyday lives, VLIs will anticipate human intentions and behaviors to choose appropriate robot actions.
She works at the intersection of AI, human-robot interaction and performance, and is currently building a new AI and robotics company. Catie is formerly the founder and CEO of Zenie, a journal that writes back to you. She holds a PhD and MS in robotics and AI from Stanford, where she was also a Postdoctoral researcher and is now an Adjunct Professor. Her research – funded by the NIH, Google and Stanford – explored how robots can learn tasks from humans with imitation learning. A prolific, award-winning robot choreographer, she has created works with nearly a dozen robotic platforms and held residencies at the Smithsonian, Jacob’s Pillow, the Exploratorium, TED and more. Catie is also an International Strategy Forum fellow at Schmidt Futures and an Obama Leader USA at the Obama Foundation.

Keynote: Delivering Broadcast Quality 3D Video to Transform Sports
Have you ever watched a game and thought, “I wish I could see this from the perspective of the referee, the catcher, or from the eyes of a boxer going for the knockout”? Now you can, powered by Arcturus’ 3D platform! Arcturus is a SaaS platform that takes broadcast viewers onto the field where no physical camera could go and enables entirely new immersive 3D experiences on mobile, desktop and VR devices.
They capture real-world sports action from multiple angles and reconstruct the play, so viewers can move freely within the scene to see it from any viewpoint. Unlike traditional or 360-degree video, volumetric video records a complete 3D volume, including accurate depth, color and lighting, creating a "hologram" of the original scene.
Steve Sullivan is the Co-Founder and CEO of Arcturus, shaping the future of live-action 3D media and next-level immersive experiences. Previously, Steve led Microsoft’s Mixed Reality Capture Studios, delivering holographic performances for VR, AR, TV and film, experienced by hundreds of millions worldwide. Panel: Beyond Human Vision – Unlocking the Invisible with Visual Technology & AI
The human eye can only perceive 0.0035% of the entire electromagnetic spectrum, yet most of the world’s ~50B cameras and visual sensors are still designed to only capture and analyze visible light. Check out Ash Cleary’s article to learn more about unlocking the invisible with visual technology and artificial intelligence.
This panel will explore how visual technologies are expanding far beyond visible light – from hyperspectral imaging and optical tomography to nanoscale visualization, millimeter-wave radar and 3D LiDAR. We’ll discuss how these modalities capture, analyze and interpret data that is fundamentally invisible to the human eye, and why that matters for precision healthcare, environmental monitoring, industrial inspection, autonomy and navigation.
Panelists will dive into the hard parts – sensor physics, data quality, ground-truth generation, real-time perception and sensor fusion – and where AI is finally making these systems commercially viable. We’ll also look ahead at what it takes to move from lab-grade breakthroughs to scalable platforms that redefine how machines see, reason and act in the world.
If the future of intelligence depends on better vision, this is where that future starts.
